Simon started playing the piano at the age of seven. He is classically trained but soon took up other styles of music. At the moment he divides his time between teaching and playing piano. He regularly plays with a jazz trio and with singers. He graduated from university in 2003 with a BA (hons) in music.

Simon arranges popular songs for piano suitable for piano bar performance. He performs standards such as Cole Porter, classical music which includes Chopin and Rachmaninov and popular music styles such as Coldplay; all of which he adapts for the atmosphere of a restaurant or bar.
